Summary: 3 unnatural creatures find solace in each other’s company

The night sky was filled with a dark and ominous terror.  The creature swooped down from the heavens, raining death on the unsuspecting victims below…

Noelle, the gypsy woman screamed.

“Stop it Jae,” the vampire Yoochun implored.  “Bring her out of it now.”

Junsu, the bat-like creature cowered in the corner; hands over his ears muffling out the human female’s screams.  He rocked back and forth; the black cat named Kali doing her best to comfort him.

With a wave of his hand, the golden haired djin brought the gypsy woman out of her trance.  She collapsed to the floor, the vampire Yoochun rushing to her side.  He cradled her in his arms; holding her tightly until her tremors ceased.

“Was that really necessary?” the nosferatu asked with anger in his voice.

“I’m sorry my dear, but we needed to know what you’ve been dreaming about.  Yoochun’s maker said that you and Chun were the key; that you held the future in your hands.  This “thing” is great enough to make the other vampires hunt you down.  We must discover what it is.”

The genie handed the gypsy woman a goblet of wine.  She drank it; still huddled on the floor in Yoochun’s embrace.

“Tell us what you saw.”

Yoochun sighed.

“Must she?  She’s gone through enough.  Leave her be.”

Junsu and Kali joined the others.  The bat-like creature gently patted Noelle on her head.

“Are you ok, gypsy lady?”

Noelle smiled at him and nodded.

“Tell us what you saw,” the genie repeated, despite Yoochun’s protests.

They sat together in a circle, all eyes focused on the gypsy woman.

“There was a solitary creature.  It was frightening and beautiful at the same time; it came out of the sky from nowhere.  It slaughtered everyone.”

She took another sip of wine.

“Whom did it slaughter?” the djin asked, his curiosity peaked.

“Vampires,” Noelle whispered.  “He killed all the vampires.”

Yoochun swallowed hard.  He looked over at Junsu, his lover nervously fiddling with his tail.  He didn’t like Miss Noelle’s story one bit.

“Who killed all the vampires,” Junsu stammered.  He wanted to know, but at the same time he was afraid to hear the answer.

Noelle took a deep breath.

“The creature was tall and strong, yet it wasn’t monstrous.  Its power and agility were magnificent, but the carnage…”

She buried her face in her hands and wept.

“Go on my dear,” Jaejoong encouraged her, even though Yoochun shot him an angry glance.

The gypsy woman sniffled and continued to reveal her vision.

“It was slightly larger than a human.  It had fangs and claws and…” she paused; all eyes suddenly on Junsu.

The shy creature felt his temperature rising.

“Its wings were like a…”

Tears fell from Junsu’s eyes.

“Was it me?” he asked shyly.

Noelle’s lower lip trembled.

“No Junsu, it wasn’t you.  It was…”

The gypsy woman turned her attention to Yoochun.  She stared deep into the nosferatu’s eyes.

The slender vampire swallowed hard.

“No,” he exclaimed.  “It can’t be me.  I cannot turn into a bat-like creature.”

The genie grabbed the bottle of wine and took a deep swig from it.  His mind was racing a mile a minute.

“The resemblance was uncanny Yoochun,” Noelle told him.  “The creature bore your features.”

The vampire stood up in a huff and began pacing the floor.

“It’s nonsense.  I cannot transform my body into a giant bat.  It’s impossible.”

Jaejoong furrowed his brow.

“Was there more to your vision, my dear?”

Noelle nodded her head.  She looked up at Yoochun who was still walking back and forth across the parlor; he nervously wrung his hands, occasionally running them through his long, dark locks.

“The creature tore the vampires apart.  He devoured them one by one.”

Yoochun froze in his tracks.

“That’s enough.  I’ll hear no more of it.  It’s nonsense I tell you.”

The gypsy rose to her feet.

“I will be heard.  I will finish.”

Yoochun scowled at her; eyes blood red and fangs drawn.

“There was a woman; a woman shrouded in black.  She controlled the creature.  On her belt she wore a set of keys.  When she jingled them, the creature stopped the killing and flew to her side.”

Jaejoong finished the bottle and stood up.

“So this woman has the beast trained to kill vampires; a beast that looks like Yoochun.  Perhaps sometime in the near future a creature will arise bearing your face and the ability to wipe out all the vampires.  Perhaps this is what they fear; the extinction of their race at the hands of a monster and its mistress.”

Kali rubbed her body against Junsu’s leg.  The former familiar meowed and he nodded back to her.

“What about me?  Was I in your dream?  What about my people?”

Noelle smiled and gave Junsu a hug.

“You were not in my vision, nor were your kind.  But we will find them, I promise.”

Junsu smiled.  He believed the gypsy woman.  She was sweet and kind.

The dream plagued Yoochun’s fragile mind.

“Seriously Jae, you can’t believe for one moment that I can turn into a bat.”

The djin nodded.

“I would have sensed that immediately.  But still, your maker said that you and Noelle held the key to the future.  Keys…the woman had keys in the dream.  Who was she?  My head hurts.  I need to sleep on this.”

Noelle and Yoochun looked at each other with surprise.

Sleep?  The genie never slept…

Life.  It began to stir.  It began with a spark.  Soon that spark will begin to glow.  The embers will smolder and burn.  Flames will grow higher and higher until the earth is scorched and all in it’s wake are devoured…

A figure in black wandered the streets; tall and graceful, it seemed to walk without care.  Like a specter it floated effortlessly; it made no sound, save the jingling of a set of iron keys…
