nah, they might simply be shy, lazy, busy, or couldn't think of anything to say. i was guilty of being a silent lurker too since i was always in a rush to read, having very little free time to spend for myself. then i realized that the least i can do for the writers who give me joy is to comment, even if it was just a simple thank you.

I'm guilty of the opposite; I don't always read other people's fics. But when I do, I leave a comment.
