He cupped her face gently with his hands and stared her deep in the eye.

“I will return,” he promised her.

He pecked her cheek and wiped the tears.

“Good luck,” the Gypsy King told him.

The vampire Yoochun turned his back on his pregnant wife and walked off into the night...

At the head of this rag-tag group of misfits were the Empire Alley Boys; they guided the vampire and his little band through the woods.

Jaejoong insisted they didn’t get involved the fight; they were boys after all; and the genie didn’t want to take responsibility for them.  They had done enough.

In tow, but invisible to all, was the Unholy Trio’s secret weapon; G Dragon and his demons.  At first they had just come along for the money, but in the end, what do demon’s need of gold?  It was adventure they sought, or rather, bloodshed; for the demons had no love for vampires, save one.

Yoochun felt a shiver up his spine as a pair of red eyes winked at him for a second; he didn’t like these demons, but Jaejoong had reassured him they were trustworthy.

The gargoyle followed at an unusually slow pace; his shoulders rounded; tail dragging.  Jaejoong picked up the tail and Junsu stopped for a moment.

“It’s making noise,” the genie told him.

Junsu blushed; he stood up straight and kept his tail high.  He tried not to think about Eunhyuk; his friend had flown away at Jaejoong’s request, and he wondered if he would ever see him again.

Following up the rear, was perhaps the strangest of duo’s;JYP’s strong man, Taecyeon, and Eunjung, the Necromancer.

The vampire feared for the safety of these humans, despite the reassurances he was given.  Eunjung brought magic into the mix; along with Jaejoong’s powers, they would bring an extra “something” to the fight.

Vampires hated magic.

Taecyeon came armed with a crossbow, wooden stakes and a pistol loaded with silver bullets. Yoochun was glad these two humans were on their side.

Junyoung’s hand went up and the party stopped.

“Just over that ridge,” the leader of the orphans told the genie.

“Good boys,” Jaejoong told them.  “Go back now, it’s not safe.”

The Empire Alley Boys melted into the forest and headed back to the Gypsy camp.

The Unholy Trio and their followers walked on until they sighted the vampire stronghold; a dark, foreboding mansion surrounded by an iron gate.  Past the gate was an open courtyard.  Once inside they would be trapped unless they killed everyone.

“What do you say; shall we knock on the gate?”

Yoochun rolled his eyes.

“You really are insane.”

The genie smiled.

“Of course I am insane; I’ve been locked up in a bottle for a thousand years.”

“Do they have any guards?” Taecyeon interrupted them.

Yoochun nodded his head.

“Show them to me,” the human tracker asked.

They moved in silently; the demons still invisible.  They climbed the steep hill which lead to the iron gate.

A green flame emanated from Eunjung’s hands and the gate opened for them.

“Do you think they know we are here?” Junsu asked

Two guards, alarmed by the opening of the gate attempted to call out, but their cries were stifled by silver arrows from Taecyeon’s cross bow.  The vampires exploded before them, then fell into dust.

“I’d say they know we are here,” the genie exclaimed.

They ran into the courtyard where they were subsequently surrounded.

There, in the full moon light, was his old friend Yunho and his werewolf lover, Changmin.

“Have you come to kill me, Chun? the tall and handsome vampire asked.  The werewolf growled  and flashed his fangs at the winged creature by the vampire’s side.  Junsu snarled at the werewolf who stood his ground.  Changmin licked his chops; he couldn’t wait to taste gargoyle flesh.

Yoochun approached his old friend with caution

“No,” he answered, “ I will not harm you.  I’ve come for one man only.  Bring him forth for his punishment and all the others will be spared.”

The courtyard was filled with the laughter of the clan members.

A hooded creature spoke up; his voice strangely familiar to Yoochun.

“Yunho does not speak for the clan, and whatever authority he once had has been stripped of him because of his failure to bring you to me, rogue.”

Gnarled hands pulled the hood back and Yoochun narrowed his eyes.

“Heechul, you don’t look so well.  The stress of living under Leeteuk’s shadow has weakened you.”

Yoochun looked around the courtyard for the clan leader.

“Where is Leeteuk?

“He’s dead; I killed him.  He was the weak one.  We needed stronger leadership and I was happy to provide it.”

“What now,” Taecyeon whispered in Eunjung’s ear; “ if the leader is dead, will the curse be broken?”

Heechul moved closer to the Necromancer, the gallant tracker drawing his silver blade and shielding her.

“You brought humans here?  How foolish of you.”

Eunjung’s body glowed green and the vampires staggered backwards.

“A Necromancer?  Impressive.”

Heechul circled Jaejoong, and for the first time, Yoochun noticed a change in the genie’s appearance.  He stood straight and defiant; the golden haired djinn ready for anything that Heechul would throw at him.

“I smell magic on you, as well.  Yoochun, you know using magic is against the rules.”

The vampire grinned.

“Since when have you played by the rules, Heechul?  Killing Leeteuk?  That’s mutiny.  Bad form old boy.”

Heechul nodded his head.

“Yes, I never played fair.  It was I that ordered the slaughter of the gypsies, not Leeteuk. I drugged you to increase your blood lust ten-fold. Your handiwork that day was legendary.  Leeteuk  was quite furious with me.  It was then that I realized he was weak and I planned to dispose of him.  It was sad really; he was a good leader until he got soft.”

Yoochun pointed a slender finger at the clan leader and spoke with authority.

“Give yourself up Heechul.  Pay the price for your crimes.”

The vampire leader smiled and tossed his head back in arrogance.

“Don’t be stupid.  We outnumber you.”

From the shadows the demons materialized; hisses and growls filling the courtyard as the infernal creatures revealed themselves.

“More tricks?”

Jaejoong turned into his magical form; the elegant Victorian clothes disappearing as he appeared to them as a creature of fire and smoke.

“You’re a genie?  Really Yoochun, this is a fight, not a circus sideshow.  Besides, you don’t want to kill me.  Afterall, if I die, so does your little friend; you know, the pretty little thing you found on the streets of London.”

The heavy oak door opened to reveal another vampire pulling a small creature shrouded by a cloak.  The jingling of chains echoed off the courtyard walls.  The cloak was removed and the creature was shoved to the ground.

There, the little fairy girl from Yoochun’s fevered dreams looked up with tears in her eyes.

“Sidree,” Yoochun whispered.

“So you do know her, and I thought this wasn’t going to hurt.”

The fragile nosferatu flashed his fangs in anger.

“Let her go.”

Heechul stood with his hands on his hips.

“Or what, you’ll kill me?  There are still more of us than you.”

The little fairy girl shivered in the evening air.  She wrapped her arms around her body for warmth.

The werewolf suddenly began to sniff the air.

“Hyung; something is amiss,” he told Yunho.

A whooshing sound filled the night sky; there illuminated by the light of the moon was Eunhyuk, and he wasn’t alone.

Gargoyles filled the sky.

“My people,” Junsu beamed.  “My people are here.”

“And we’re not alone, “ Junsu’s gargoyle friend exclaimed.

From out of the woods the entire gypsy confederation appeared.

“We have a right to be here,” Rain, the Gypsy King declared.  “It was our kin who was slaughtered.  We want justice to be served. We fight to see it done”

The MBLAQ boys pushed forward; silver knives ready to be thrown.

“Where is my wife?” Yoochun whispered in Rain’s ear.

The Gypsy King winked at the slender nosferatu.

“Safe, never fear.  The camp is secure.  Some of our best boys are there along with a few of Eunhyuk’s gargoyles.”

Yoochun turned to face Heechul.  The vampire leader looked at his men and nodded his head.  Fangs extended as dozens of pairs of blood red eyes glowed in the night.

“No!”

A shriek like a banshee tore through the awkward silence as the little fairy girl’s body began to contort in pain.  All were frozen as if under some spell as the chains were broken.  They stood mesmerized as the transformation began; claws and needle sharp teeth grew; but it was the spikes; like razor blades that jutted from her spine that took their breath away.

“Fools; I do not need your help.  You are not the only monsters here.”

Sidree leapt upon Heechul and in an instant tore him to pieces while all the others stood in horror.  Too shocked to move, the clan members trembled as the fairy pinned the vampire leaders body to the ground.

Still alive, but barely, Heechul laughed.

“Clever girl,” he whispered.  “Better finish me off properly.”

Seung Ho,  MBLAQ’s leader stepped forward.

“This for the gypsies who were slaughtered that day.”

A silver blade found it’s home in Heechul’s body; the vampire disintegrating into a pile of dust.

It was over; a voice inside Yoochun’s head made him blink.  “I am very proud of you.  You no longer need me.  I release you from my service.”

He shook his head and regained his senses.

“Back down all of you,”  Yoochun ordered, “or meet a similar fate.”

The clan members looked to Yunho who nodded his head.

They reluctantly surrendered, and all breathed a sigh of relief.

“Sidree?”

The fairy girl backed away from what was once Heechul and cowered in a corner.

“It’s safe now,” Yoochun told her.

Sidree’s body shook violently and the spikes disappeared;  in their place sprouted colorful, delicate wings.

Yoochun wrapped his coat around the girl’s naked body.

“That was very naughty of you.”

Jaejoong resumed his human form, and thankfully managed to have clothes on. He tipped his top hat to the fairy and bowed deeply.  He outstretched his arm and she took it; the genie introducing her to everyone as if they were at a ball and not a battle.

Eunhyuk and Junsu hugged each other; the other gargoyles all gathering together for a tear filled reunion.

“What now, Yoochun?” Yunho asked.

Changmin growled at the vampire.  A part of him would never forgive the rogue for what he had done.

“The clan is yours Yunho, run it well.  I know you will.”

He extended his hand and his old friend took it.

The young werewolf stared at the vampire in hatred.

“I hope we can all learn to forgive each other.  We’ve all done terrible things.”

Yoochun nodded his head at Changmin who lowered his eyes.

“I’m truly sorry for everything.”

Yoochun walked away; his followers scrambling after; Junsu and the gargoyles taking flight; they cried out in triumph as they flew toward the gypsy camp.

Changmin fell to the ground and wept; Yunho running his fingers through his lover’s hair.

“It’s alright, Minnie-ah; everything is going to be alright...”

Noelle wept tears of joy as Yoochun entered the gypsy camp.

“I told you I’d be back.”

He held her tightly, but she let go, as she was distracted by the fluttering of fairy wings.

“Is that?”

Yoochun nodded his head.

“Sidree,” the gypsy woman breathed.

Noelle approached the girl and in an action that surprised everyone she greeted her warmly.

“I’m so glad you are safe.”

Noelle took Sidree to a wagon and found the girl some clothes.  Yoochun was amazed to see Noelle accept her; the two females sitting around the campfire and laughing.

Jaejoong joined Yoochun as they stared at the two females.

“Well, we’ve won.”

The genie took a swig of liquor from a wine skin pouch.

“The curse is broken.”

Yoochun shrugged his shoulders.

“I certainly hope so.”

The two looked over at Junsu and Eunhyuk.  The two friends hugged each other and then parted; the rest of the gargoyles flying after.

Junsu joined the ladies at the fire.

“They’re going to start anew,” he told them.  I’ve made Eunhyuk the leader.  I’m going to stay with my new family.”

He smiled brightly and the ladies held his hand.

Eunjung and Taecyeon approached the djinn and the Nosferatu.  Jaejoong kissed the girls hand.

“It was a pleasure my dear.  I’m glad you came, and I’m especially glad that no harm came to you or to Taecyeon.”

The tracker vigorously shook the genie’s hand.

“I’ll get her back safely, I promise.”

“No doubt.  Travel with the demons; they’ll protect you.”

The humans nodded at Yoochun.

“Thank you, and be safe.”

As the demons left the camp, G Dragon waved goodbye to Jaejoong; they headed back to London, the humans by their side.

“That wasn’t much fun,” Seungri told him.  “We didn’t get to kill anybody.”

T.O.P. puffed on a cigar.

“Don’t fret it, we’ve been handsomely paid.  Besides, we got a free show.  That fairy was quite a cut up.”

The demons laughed and patted each other on the back as they made their way home; Eunjung and Taecyeon thanking their lucky stars that the fight was over before it began.

The vampire and the genie joined Junsu and the ladies at the fire pit.

“What now?” Noelle asked.

The genie took a deep breath.

“I think we should travel, see the world.  I’m bored here.  What do you think?”

Yoochun lit a cigarette.

“Where should we go?” Junsu inquired with excitement in his voice.

“I think we should let the ladies decide, afterall, they are coming with us.”

Yoochun looked at Noelle who looked at Sidree.  It was understood that the fairy girl was coming with them.  She had saved the day and it wouldn’t be right to leave her behind.

“America,” Noelle blurted out.

The genie grinned widely.

“Of course!  New York; then a riverboat ride down the Mississippi; a visit to the Wild West before it’s tamed, and a final stop in San Francisco.  It will be a grand adventure.”

Yoochun seemed indifferent and Junsu frowned.

“What about Kali?”

“She’s coming, don’t worry.  I’ve sent for her.  She’ll be here soon.”

All eyes turned to the vampire.

He took another puff on his cigarette.

“What about my house?”

“Oh don’t worry about that.  I’ve given the keys to G Dragon.  I’m sure he and his demons will be very comfortable there while we’re gone.”

The vampire narrowed his eyes at the genie and scowled.

“You suck, Jaejoong...”
